Sponsored Metta Bhavana

Sunday 18th June to Saturday 24th June

This week is Refugee Week, an international event.

You can join in by:

The Metta Bhavana results in metta for ourselves and refugees ... and money for two refugee charities (and our Centre!)

Sponsorship

Current total amount pledged is £0.35 per person-hour.

That means if ten people practice Metta Bhavana for an hour together, they have raised £3.50 (or proportionally less for a shorter sit).

Sponsor now

Amount of Metta Bhavana meditation so far reported in the week: 0 person-hours

Estimate of funds raised: £0.00

Of the money raised from the sponsorship, equal thirds will go to the charities CamCRAG, Refugee Action and to the Cambridge Buddhist Centre for its support of the event.

Engage more with the theme

Hear about refugees' stories and receive motivational Dharma input and practice tips from the local BAM team. We will be sending daily messages from Sunday 18th June until Saturday 24th June.

Come back to see an archive of the messages from Sun 18 June.

Metta Bhavana sessions

We would love you to get involved with the Sponsored Metta Bhavana week by not only sponsoring the meditations, but by meditating yourself! Please come along to one (or more!) of the sessions below, thus helping us raise more money for the refugee charities and also spreading loving kindness throughout the world.

There is no need to book, although some sessions assume a certain level of meditation experience as shown in the key below. Planned Metta Bhavana sessions in the week from Sunday 18th June to Saturday 24th June are as below. Times are for the whole event not just the Metta Bhavana time.

These sessions assume that people are already familiar with the Metta Bhavana meditation practice. If you are new to the practice, we would like to invite you to the special introductory Metta Bhavana class we are running on Thursday 29th June.

All sessions are at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre unless otherwise stated.
